In a statement, Eni announced that the closing of the acquisition of BP’s assets in Algeria “In Amenas” and “In Salah” has been completed. It was noted that the acquisition had received the approval of the relevant country and the competition authority. The statement noted that Eni has been operating in Algeria since 1981. The statement said that following the operation and the development programs carried out in the Berkine basin, Eni’s production in Algeria is expected to be around 130,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, confirming the company’s position as the main international energy company in the country.
