Ministry of Trade: Some companies that engaged in hoarding red meat, causing speculative price fluctuations, are under investigation.
The Ministry of Trade has announced that certain companies engaging in stockpiling without a significant increase in costs have been put under surveillance due to causing speculative price fluctuations in the livestock sector. The statement emphasized that efforts are ongoing to eliminate activities that hinder our citizens' access to products while implementing deterrent measures against practices that disrupt market balance and free competition.
Simultaneous inspections have begun across our provinces regarding red meat, with administrative sanctions and financial penalties being strictly enforced against those involved in exorbitant pricing and stockpiling. The Ministry of Trade has assigned inspectors to review and monitor 20 businesses operating in 8 provinces, starting comprehensive inspections early on March 24, 2025. The Ministry urges companies to price their products in line with consumer costs, and necessary actions will be taken against those engaging in stockpiling or selling at inflated prices, with updates shared with the public.
