TUI: Demand for Antalya is high
German tourism operator TUI has said it is expecting a strong summer season, with bookings rising for the first time compared to the period before the coronavirus outbreak in 2020. German tourism operator TUI is expecting a strong summer season with increased bookings, with demand for Mallorca and Antalya high. According to the company, travellers are booking an average of two weeks in advance compared to last year to take advantage of the opportunities, while the Spanish island of Mallorca and the Turkish resort city of Antalya are in high demand. TUI announced last month that it was expecting strong revenues and high profits for this year, despite the travel disruptions caused by strikes and the uncertain economic outlook. "We are preparing for a strong summer season, with guest numbers exceeding 2019 for the first time in the last few weeks," said Stefan Baumert, TUI's group president for Germany.
