Kishida: Fiscal stimulus not in conflict with BOJ policy
The Bank of Japan’s inflation-focused monetary policy does not conflict with its fiscal stimulus measures, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said on Thursday. The Bank of Japan’s inflation-focused monetary policy does not conflict with the government’s fiscal stimulus measures aimed at easing the burden on households of rising living costs. The central bank’s policy “targets sustainable and stable inflation along with wage increases, and does not conflict with the government’s inflation countermeasures aimed at responding meticulously to price increases in energy, food and other items,” Kishida told a parliamentary session.
