Minister Bolat's two-day visit to Egypt

Minister of Trade Omer Bolat will pay an official visit to Cairo, the capital of Egypt, on October 27-28, accompanied by a delegation of business people. According to a statement made by the Ministry of Trade, Bolat’s visit will be made at the invitation of Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir Saleh. The visit, organized by the Ministry to further develop trade and economic relations between Turkey and Egypt, will also be attended by a trade delegation consisting of the country’s leading business people. The visit program, which includes 113 business people, 10 of whom are heads of civil society organizations, aims to take trade and economic relations between the Turkish and Egyptian business worlds to a higher level. Minister Bolat will meet with Turkish and Egyptian business circles in a roundtable meeting and hold a bilateral meeting with Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Saleh. During the meeting in question, a roadmap will be drawn for increasing the Turkey-Egypt trade volume, which is around 10 billion dollars, to 15 billion dollars in 5 years, and the developments achieved in the Technical Consultation Meeting and the 5th Joint Committee Meeting of the Free Trade Agreement held between Turkey and Egypt on October 24-25 will also be discussed. The use of local currencies in bilateral trade will also be discussed During the meetings on October 27-28, issues such as the initiation of negotiations for the expansion and revision of the Turkey-Egypt Free Trade Agreement, the use of local currencies in bilateral trade, and the work permit and market access problems that business circles have encountered in Egypt due to the establishment of the Ro-Ro line between the two countries will be evaluated. Bolat will attend the opening of the International Manufacturing Congress and Fair to be held for the second time this year in Cairo under the auspices of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and will visit the fairground where Turkish companies will hold meetings with their Egyptian counterparts.
