Asian stock markets fall
Asian stocks fell after China left its benchmark lending rate unchanged. Hong Kong shares fell 2 percent in the Asian session. Stocks in Asia-Pacific were lower on Monday after the People's Bank of China kept lending rates unchanged in line with expectations. The Hang Seng index led losses in Hong Kong, down 2.62 percent. In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite fell 1.03 percent and the Shenzhen Composite also fell 0.94 percent. The Nikkei 225m fell 0.1 percent in Japan. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 was 0.2 percent lower. South Korea's Kospi fell 1.28 percent. MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan fell 1.4 percent.
