TPAO applied for an extension of the exploration license concerning natural gas discovery.

Foreks - Turkey's Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) has applied for an extension of a petroleum exploration license based on natural gas discoveries. The announcement by the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs (MAPEG) was published in the Official Gazette.

According to this, TPAO has requested a two-year extension of its AR/TPO/K/F20-d1,d2 numbered oil exploration license, located within the borders of Istanbul and Tekirdağ, effective from May 26, 2025. This request is made in accordance with the eighth paragraph of Article 6 of the Turkish Petroleum Law No. 6491, following the recent natural gas discoveries in the license area.
