US Vice President Vance: We need to take a significant position in Greenland.
US Vice President James David Vance, along with his wife Usha Vance and a delegation, visited Greenland, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a strong presence in the region. He questioned, "Are we going to leave the North Atlantic and the Arctic to China, Russia, and other regimes that do not consider the interests of the American people? We have no other choice. We need to secure a significant position in Greenland to protect the people living here and our own country."
During his speech at the Pituffik Space Base, Vance discussed the Trump administration's interests in Greenland, asserting the need for increased American presence for national security. He criticized Denmark for failing to invest adequately in Greenland's security and reiterated that Greenlanders should determine their own independence from Denmark, stressing the urgency of America's strategic positioning in the region.
