The TTB obligation for new vehicles has been removed.
Foreks has announced a change in the National Vehicle Recognition System (UTTS) regulations, removing the requirement for individual vehicles launched after July 1, 2025, to install a vehicle recognition unit (TTB). This system aims to enhance transparency in fuel sales by digitally recording transactions and combating the informal economy. The installation of TTBs on vehicles and hardware setups at fuel stations is progressing rapidly.
Under the UTT Application General Communiqué, vehicles acquired through leasing or used in business must have TTB installations completed by April 30, 2025. Vehicles not covered by this but registered with fuel distribution companies' TTS programs must have TTBs by July 1, 2025. Taxpayers are required to select authorized installation firms via utts.gov.tr to complete installations by the deadline. Failure to comply may result in significant tax losses.
