Foreks - BETAM reported that the gender gap in unemployment rates decreased by 1 point to 4.3 in February. The Labor Market Outlook Report stated that the employment decreased by 149,000, while the number of unemployed fell by 95,000, resulting in a total workforce reduction of approximately 244,000. Consequently, the overall unemployment rate dropped by 0.2 points from January to February, reaching 8.2%.
In February, the seasonally adjusted female unemployment rate fell from 11.9% to 11% due to a decrease of 101,000 in employment and 131,000 in the number of unemployed. Meanwhile, the male unemployment rate increased from 6.6% to 6.7% as employment declined by 46,000, and the number of unemployed rose by 35,000. The female labor force level decreased by 232,000, while the male labor force level saw a reduction of 12,000.
