Goldman Sachs predicts that the S&P 500 may rise less than expected this year.
Foreks - Goldman Sachs predicts that the S&P 500 index may rise less than expected this year due to concerns over slowing U.S. GDP growth and trade policies. David Kostin, Chief U.S. Equity Strategist at Goldman Sachs Research, stated, "The headwinds in stock valuations caused by increased uncertainty are typically relatively short-lived. However, the outlook for slower growth indicates that lower valuations may be more sustainable."
According to Goldman Sachs, U.S. stocks are at greater risk of decline following a recent 10% correction in the S&P 500. The firm has lowered its year-end forecast for the S&P 500 from 6500 to 6200.
