TEPAV: In February, there was a monthly decline in retail confidence, while an annual increase was observed.
Foreks has published the 182nd issue of the Retail Confidence Index (TEPE). According to February 2025 data, TEPE rose by 18.3 points year-on-year, reaching 3.2 points. However, there was a decline of 6.0 points compared to the previous month. Retailers reported a deterioration in their business conditions over the past three months, while future expectations improved. In February, 29.8% noted their business worsened, while those anticipating improvements in the next three months rose from 31.9% to 46.6%. The expectation of price increases for the next three months decreased from 68.4% to 46.9%.
Regionally, the Aegean Region saw the most significant increase in retail confidence in February 2025. Other regions, including Eastern Black Sea, Northeast Anatolia, Istanbul, Southeastern Anatolia, and Central Anatolia, also experienced rises, while Western Anatolia showed a decline. Sales expectations for the next three months increased by 2.7 points month-on-month and by 39.3 points year-on-year, reaching a level of 23.3 points. 46.6% of participating retailers expressed optimism about their future business conditions.
