President Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Putin.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The discussion focused on Turkey-Russia bilateral relations as well as regional and global issues. President Erdoğan emphasized the crucial role of cooperation between Turkey and Russia in resolving regional matters. He noted that Turkey is closely monitoring the process initiated to end the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine and expressed Turkey's readiness to support any efforts, including hosting peace negotiations, to achieve a dignified and lasting peace.

President Erdoğan also mentioned that goodwill steps towards ensuring maritime safety in the Black Sea would contribute to the peace process, asserting Turkey's commitment to preventing the Black Sea from becoming a conflict zone. He highlighted the importance of collaboration with Russia regarding Syria, stressing the need for joint efforts to achieve lasting peace and stability based on Syria's territorial integrity, while advocating for the lifting of sanctions against Syria.
