The Turkish furniture sector, a shining star among the country’s export industries, is striving to become one of the world's top five exporters, aiming for a $3.5 billion foreign trade surplus in 2024. The Aegean Furniture, Paper, and Forest Products Exporters' Association organized sectoral trade delegations to Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and India, facilitating 787 bilateral business meetings between 55 Turkish companies and 158 importers.
Ali Fuat Gürle, President of the Aegean Furniture Exporters' Association, highlighted their preparations to host significant buyers from countries like India, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, South Africa, and Morocco. He announced the launch of the new "Aegean Furniture" UR-GE project in March 2024, involving 34 firms, aimed at enhancing international competitiveness. Gürle also revealed plans for the fifth "Disruptive Design Competition" in 2025, focusing on eco-design to promote sustainable and innovative solutions in the furniture sector.
