Türk-İş has shared the hunger and poverty thresholds for March 2025 with the public. The report highlights the high monthly living costs for a four-person family in Turkey, emphasizing the financial burden on workers.
According to data from Türk-İş, the monthly food expense for a family of four living in Ankara to maintain a healthy, balanced diet is calculated at 23,615 TL. Additionally, the poverty threshold, which includes essential expenses like clothing, housing, transportation, education, and healthcare, is set at 76,922 TL. For a single worker, the monthly living cost is recorded at 30,617 TL, revealing the struggles faced by individuals living on minimum wage. The report also indicates alarming kitchen inflation, with a 1.25% increase in food expenses from the previous month.
